About us

Established in 1962, Lefka Hotel is a traditional family-run business owned and operated by the Vroyvakis family. The hotel is located in Kolymvari, on the north-western coast of Crete, and has been welcoming visitors to the area for several decades.

Lefka consists of a sixteen-room hotel and an on-site taverna offering traditional Greek cuisine. Its location makes it a practical base for exploring the wider region, with easy access to Chania, Kastelli, the Lefka Ori (White Mountains), and the sea, including well-known beaches such as Falasarna and Elafonissi.

The hotel is situated close to the crossroads of Kolymvari, a coastal fishing village known for its relaxed atmosphere and local character. Guests can experience a genuine sense of Cretan hospitality (filoxenia), along with local food and wine produced by the owners using regional grape varieties.

Lefka Hotel is easily accessible by both private and public transport from most parts of north-western Crete. Its location also provides convenient access to less developed and more remote areas of the countryside, making it suitable for visitors interested in walking, nature observation, and outdoor activities.

The surrounding area offers opportunities for hiking, including routes near Deliana Gorge and the Rodopos Peninsula, as well as cycling along varied coastal and rural landscapes. Kolymvari and the wider region are also of interest to photographers and nature enthusiasts, with a diverse mix of sea, mountains, villages, and local flora and fauna.

As a long-established local family business, Lefka Hotel places importance on personal service and a straightforward, hassle-free stay. Many visitors choose to return, using Lefka as a familiar base for exploring north-western Crete.
